Pre-Health Advising

Arizona State University offers dozens of online majors to provide innovative, high-quality education to Sun Devils from across the country and around the world. Many of these degrees allow students to take prerequisite courses necessary for admittance into professional health programs. Your Pre-Health Advisor can provide assistance with exploring careers in the health professions and preparing to become a competitive applicant to professional school.

Pre-Health 101 Workshop

Before meeting with a Pre-Health advisor, you must attend one of the Pre-Health 101 workshop offerings. Please be sure to register and attend a workshop.

Meet your ASU Online advisors

Diane Mallory

Diane MalloryManager, Internships & Pre-Professional Services

Majors served: ASU Online students in New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (e.g. - Psychology and Forensic Science)

Diane has worked at Arizona State University since 2015 and has worked in higher education since 1998. Before pre-professional advising, she has worked as a program manager for Thunderbird School of Global Management and Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions in executive education, grant funded and international management programs. Now she advises New College pre-health and pre-law students and alumni across a wide range of majors in their pursuit of their professional goals. Diane earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and her Master of Business Administration (Global Management) from the University of Phoenix. Outside of advising, Diane volunteers with a local wildlife rehabilitation center and enjoys traveling and hiking

Brandon Hardy

Whether it is gaming, fighting to be the best, or sitting back and watching the scariest or funniest movie of the year, connecting and building relationships are at the forefront of who is Brandon Hardy. Originally from Arkansas, Brandon began his journey into education as a financial aid counselor. After three years, he began the move to Arizona to continue his career in higher education at ASU. “I know what it means to be a first-generation student trying to navigate the exciting yet tumultuous world of college…I want to help students navigate that journey and find their connect in Pre-Health.”


Ryan Vann

Assistant Director of Academic Services
Pre-Health Services

Ryan has been advising with College of Health Solutions since October 2014, where he previously served as an Academic Success Advising Coordinator Senior. In that role he was the advising coordinator for our health sciences degree program and provided exceptional advising services to many of our pre-health students from various majors. Ryan also has experience as the downtown vice president of the Council of Academic Advisors, served on the Residency Appeals Committee, and currently serves on the CHS Staff Success Council. Ryan is a global advocacy certificate recipient and received the Council of Academic Advisors: Experienced Advisor of the Year award in 2019. Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and attending/watching baseball and basketball games.

Haley McInnis

Pre-Health Academic Success Coordinator 

Majors served: ASU Online Biological Sciences and Biomedical Sciences  

Haley McInnis is an Academic Advising Success Coordinator in the ASU School of Life Sciences. Haley returned to ASU in Summer of 2022 after completing her PhD. During graduate school, Haley worked in higher education as an Instructor, writing consultant, and community organizer. At ASU, Haley advises online students in the Biological Sciences degree program in pre-health. Haley loves meeting new students and supporting them on their journey into their chosen career in the healthcare professions.  Haley grew up in Arizona and received her two Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Sociology at ASU, and she received her PhD in Sociology from UC San Diego. When she is not advising students, Haley loves hiking, playing games with friends, watching professional wrestling, and trying to pet dogs while on hikes.


Kayla Johnson

Program Manager, Pre-Professional Advising

Majors served: ASU Online students in The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (e.g. - Biochemistry, Global Health, Neuroscience), W. P. Carey School of Business, and Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering

Kayla has worked at Arizona State University since 2018 She previously worked with first-year students in The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, many of whom were interested in the pre-health pathway. She is excited to assist and serve as a resource for students and alumni during their academic and pre-health journey! She earned her Master's in Educational Leadership from North Dakota State University and earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Washburn University. She enjoys traveling, making memories with family, crafting, and spending time with her fur baby, Annie.

Nicki Langley

Nicki has worked at Arizona State University since 2020. She previously worked in admission services on the transfer and graduate team. She is excited to begin her journey in assisting students on their pre-health journey. Nicki is an ASU alumnus and graduated in 2020 with her degree in Health Sciences. She is also currently in the Masters program here at ASU in Educational Policy. Outside of work Nicki enjoys spending time with her dog Kyro.


Mary Nadarski

Mary NadarskiSenior Director, The Futures Center

Majors served: ASU Online students in The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (e.g. - Biochemistry, Global Health, Neuroscience), W. P. Carey School of Business, and Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering 

Mary Nadarski has been with the Pre-Professional Advising Office since 2011. She advises students pursuing either healthcare or law. She loves meeting with students to discuss their individual goals and assisting them in crafting competitive applications to professional school. Application season is her favorite time of year. In addition, you will likely see Mary presenting various workshops and information sessions throughout the semester. Mary serves as the Advisor for Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society, the American Medical Students Association, Pre-Dental Club, Pre-Law Society at ASU, and the CLAS College Council. In addition, Mary serves as the current President of the Western Association of Pre-Law Advisors and is the Conference Chair for the Pre-Law Advisors National Conference. Mary received her Master's of Education in Higher Education from Arizona State University and her Bachelor's of Science in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining PPAO Mary worked at the Walt Disney World Resort where she was an attractions hostess at Dinosaur: The Ride in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. When not advising students, Mary enjoys attending baseball and soccer games, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and of course, Disney World.
